One of the reasons to replace a pool motor is when the motor makes a
loud noise. But not all loud sounds are of a dying motor, just the sound of
water moving through the pump (usually from not enough water, check suction the valves first) can cause
the pump to produce extra noise on top of the normal motor sound.
If you motor is dying, usually they will make a loud metallic sound.
Note: Most of the time, the pump will still continue to pump water
while making the loud noise when running.
It is not unusual for an older
motor to become loud after being soaked in water from rain. Below is a video of
a dying motor, note the sound it makes then the difference between that and the
new motor installed on the same pump.
Good web site! I really love how it is easy on my eyes and the data are well written. I am wondering how I could be notified when a new post has been made. I’ve subscribed to your RSS feed which must do the trick! Have a great day!
